A new stage work in Iceland has brought an old poodle statuette collection back into the spotlight, making the quirky ornaments the central element of the production. The show was first reported by Vísir on Wednesday.

The creators of the stage work drew inspiration from Night Bitch, a book by American author Rachel Yoder. The story explores the blurring of reality and fantasy through its main character, known as the ‘night bitch’.

According to Vísir, the poodle statuette collection featured in the production had previously been stored away in boxes and left untouched until it was incorporated into the show. This unique reuse gives the collection new meaning within a performance context.

The production stands out for its combination of documentary theatre and the fantastical world of the ‘night bitch’ character, weaving real-life objects and surreal narrative elements into its storytelling.
