A new company, Kales Iceland, has been established as a joint venture between TVG-Zimsen and Kales Group B.V. to serve the air cargo market in Iceland, connecting international airlines with Icelandic exporters, importers and freight forwarders, according to reporting by Viðskiptablaðið.

Kales Iceland will operate as an independent general sales and service agent (GSSA) for air freight, providing sales and operational services for cargo flights to and from Iceland. The company’s role is to connect international airlines with Icelandic exporters, importers and freight forwarders.

Raffaele Manna, speaking for the joint venture, said the establishment of Kales Iceland is an exciting milestone for airline agency services in Iceland and opens new opportunities. Sebastiaan Scholte, also involved in the venture, said that combining Kales’ international experience and TVG-Zimsen’s local knowledge will create new opportunities for airlines in the Icelandic air cargo market. Both quotes were provided by Eimskip.

Who is behind the new company?

TVG-Zimsen is a subsidiary of Eimskip, a longstanding international shipping company founded in 1914 that provides comprehensive freight forwarding and transport services in Iceland. Eimskip operates 56 offices in 20 countries, seven vessels, and the passenger ferries Baldur and Særún.

Kales Group B.V., founded in 1994, has operations in 38 countries, with 79 offices, and represents more than 70 airlines in international markets.
