Bergur Ebbi, an author and entrepreneur in Iceland, said this week that the current excitement around artificial intelligence is unlikely to last, and that people may soon regret the extent to which they trusted the technology. DV reported his comments from a newly released episode of the podcast ‘Gervigreindarklúbburinn’, in which he appeared alongside host Stefán Atli.

During the episode, Bergur Ebbi predicted that in five to seven years, people might look back with discomfort at how they relied on artificial intelligence in their daily lives. He added, ‘People will even get a shudder,’ according to DV. The podcast discussion highlighted concerns that some current uses of AI might not stand the test of time.
