A new play titled Högg, written by British playwright James Graham and based on a real-life account of violence, premiered last weekend at the National Theatre of Iceland (Þjóðleikhúsið) in Reykjavík. The Icelandic news outlet Vísir first reported on the production’s debut.
Högg is adapted from Jacobs Dunne’s book Right from Wrong, which details how Dunne killed another man with a single punch and explores the repercussions that followed.
The book and play describe not only the tragic incident itself, but also Dunne’s experiences in prison and the impact that the event had on his life.
