Linda Dröfn has led Iceland’s shelter for women, Kvennaathvarfið, for a little over four years, according to reporting by Vísir. The organisation, which provides support and refuge to women in need, recently moved to new and impressive premises that opened a few weeks ago. The exact location of the new facilities has not yet been made public.

At 51, Linda Dröfn brings both experience and academic achievement to her leadership. She holds a master’s degree in European Studies from the University of Aarhus and a B.A. in Spanish. In December 2024, her international reputation was highlighted when she was included on the BBC list of the 100 most influential women in the world.

Vísir first reported on Linda Dröfn’s continued leadership following the shelter’s move and recent recognition. Her work has been marked by both expansion and increased international attention.
