Claudia Wilson Molloy told the news outlet DV that her friend, a woman, died of cancer after being misdiagnosed several times by healthcare providers in Iceland. The claims raise concerns about misdiagnosis and healthcare for foreigners in Iceland.

Molloy is head of the law firm Claudia & Partners Services. Following her friend’s death, she raised concerns about whether her friend’s status as a foreigner might have contributed to the repeated misdiagnoses. “I can’t help but wonder whether being foreign played a part,” Molloy told DV.

It is not yet known if there are any official investigations or legal actions underway regarding her friend’s case.
