Extreme Chill, a music and visual arts festival traditionally held in September in Reykjavík, Iceland’s capital, will now take place in February. The change will affect attendees and artists and may have implications for Reykjavík’s winter tourism. Vísir first reported the change.

Organisers say the move is intended to give the festival a clearer identity and to make the most of Reykjavík’s distinctive wintertime atmosphere.

The February festival will feature artistic experiences that interact with the Icelandic winter, making creative use of the city’s darkness, winter landscapes, and the northern lights. The organisers plan to connect these natural elements with music and visuals throughout the event.
