A majority of Grindavík residents believe that long-term living in the town is realistic under current conditions, according to a recent poll. The survey was commissioned by the Prime Minister’s Office and first reported by mbl.is, an Icelandic news outlet.

About 60% of respondents indicated that remaining in Grindavík long-term is realistic given the ongoing situation. On the other hand, nearly 22% of those surveyed said that long-term living in the area is not realistic.

The survey was conducted by the polling firm Maskína. No further details about the respondents or additional findings from the survey have been made public.
