In Reykjavík, Hrafnhildur Sunna Eyþórsdóttir, who is better known as Sunna, has gained attention for her extraordinary cakes. Rather than traditional confections, her cakes take the form of surrealist sculptures, miniature landscapes or small imaginary worlds. Reykjavík Grapevine first reported on her creative process and unusual cakes.

Sunna begins her process by sketching each cake design, ensuring a clear vision before construction starts. The finished results often evoke artistic elements far beyond what is typically seen in cake baking.

According to Reykjavík Grapevine, each cake can take Sunna two to three days to complete. She painstakingly adds and removes details and sometimes redoes entire sections until she is satisfied with the final piece, highlighting her dedication to both the craft of baking and visual artistry.
