Kales Iceland, a new partnership between Icelandic company TVG-Zimsen and Kales Group B.V., has been appointed as the official commercial agent for Air China in Iceland, according to reporting by Viðskiptablaðið.
Under the agreement, Kales Iceland will serve as the general sales and service agent for Air China, overseeing business development and supporting the airline’s cargo activities across the country. Eimskip, Iceland’s major shipping and logistics company, confirmed the announcement.
This appointment comes as Air China prepares to introduce a new scheduled service between Beijing and Keflavík International Airport, Iceland’s main international gateway located about 50 kilometres southwest of Reykjavík, with a planned stop in Copenhagen. The route, first reported by Viðskiptablaðið, is set to begin operations on 26 October 2026.
Air China’s new line will operate three times a week using Airbus A330-300 aircraft. These planes are configured to transport both passengers and cargo, positioning the service as a potential boost for Icelandic exporters of fresh seafood and other goods that require timely delivery to markets in China.
“We are very pleased to further strengthen our already strong cooperation with Air China in Iceland,” said Adam Gunnarsson, Vice President at Kales Group. Raffaele Manna, CEO of TVG-Zimsen, added, “It is exciting to see Iceland and China tied closer together.” Both quotes were provided by Eimskip.
