Icelandic charter airline Air Atlanta is carrying out a risk assessment in response to a recent surge in Houthi missile attacks on airports in Saudi Arabia, Vísir reported. The move comes after thirteen people were reportedly killed in a missile strike at the international airport in Riyadh on Saturday.
The Houthis, a group engaged in a long-running civil war against Saudi Arabia from neighbouring Yemen, have escalated their operations in recent days with attacks targeting Saudi airports.
It is not yet known if Air Atlanta has changed or suspended any of its flights as a result of the risk assessment. Official confirmations or updates to the reported death toll from the Riyadh airport attack have not yet been provided.
