Farmers in Norðurland vestra, a region in northern Iceland, are hurrying to move livestock from summer pastures into barns and shelters in advance of severe weather expected tomorrow. The preparations come as a powerful low-pressure system is forecast to hit the area, according to a report by Vísir.

Preparations have started at the Bessastaðir horse farm near Hrútafjörður as well, reflecting wider concern across local agricultural communities. Vísir noted that the incoming storm has ‘all it takes to become historic’, though details about the expected wind speeds or precipitation levels are not yet known.

As part of their ongoing coverage, Vísir will be speaking with Jóhann Magnússon about the preparations and concerns among farmers. The latest updates on forecast timings and storm intensity have not been released at this stage.
