The Icelandic National Audit Office announced about a year ago that it would carry out an administrative audit of Iceland’s climate affairs. This development came after media reports revealed that Icelandic authorities had misunderstood the nature of their cooperation with the European Union on the Paris Agreement for several years, according to Vísir.

Employees involved in the matter have stated they are competent to assess their manager’s administrative conduct. It is not yet known what consequences resulted from the reported misunderstanding of the Paris Agreement cooperation, or the exact date the audit office made its announcement.
