Grétarsson made the announcement himself in a recent video published on Facebook. He explained that after a lengthy period of stable health, he has begun to notice signs that his body may no longer be accepting the transplanted arms.
He suggested that cancer treatment he received in recent months could have played a part in triggering the rejection. Grétarsson suspects a connection between the cancer therapy and the transplant rejection.
