Foreign tourists travelling near Dettifoss, a well-known waterfall in North Iceland, experienced a tire burst on their camper van last year. DV reports that the rental company initially refused to pay for the damage or arrange a replacement despite the incident.

One of the tourists later said there was neither a spare tire nor a jack available in the vehicle at the time. This left the group in a difficult situation by the side of the road.

Details of the incident came to light after a member of the group described their experience on the social media site Reddit. Ultimately, compensation or payment was received by the tourists, although how and when this took place has not yet been detailed in reports.
