The Icelandic Road and Coastal Administration (Vegagerðin) has issued a warning for strong winds in the Eastfjords starting around 19:00 tonight. According to mbl.is, the alert was shared by a meteorologist from the agency.

Wind gusts could reach 35 metres per second in mountain wind funnels such as Hamarfjörður. The warning highlights the increased risk for drivers and communities in the affected areas.

The same notice from the Icelandic Road and Coastal Administration states that temperatures are expected to fall late tonight in the Westfjords, adding further caution for residents and travellers.
