Foreign tourists renting a car in Iceland had three tires burst on their rental vehicle within a short period, leaving them stranded and upset, according to a report by DV. The incident, which left the visitors stranded and upset, has drawn attention to the state of vehicles being offered to travellers in the country.

The renters reported that the tires on their car were in very poor condition. A foreign woman who described the ordeal on Reddit called the experience ‘an absolute nightmare.’ She went on to characterise renting such a car as ‘absolute irresponsibility.’ Both quotes were reported to DV. The tourists expressed their anger and frustration at the rental company following the incident.

DV was the first outlet to report the story. It is not yet known which rental company provided the car, or whether the complaint has led to any formal investigation or response from the company involved.
