The Mýralíf project, which focuses on wetlands restoration, marked its one-year anniversary on Wednesday, 21 October 2026, according to a report by the Icelandic agricultural publication Bændablaðið. The outlet said the celebration was professionally organised.

Bændablaðið highlighted that wetlands restoration, a core focus of Mýralíf, brings several advantages. The article noted benefits such as improved water balance and greater water security from restoring wetland environments.

Mýralíf’s work takes place in a wider context of environmental research and advocacy in Iceland. The Agricultural University of Iceland, founded in 2005 and based in Hvanneyri near Borgarnes, focuses on agricultural and environmental sciences, landscape architecture and planning.
